It is our daughter Ambre who made us known the Norwegian forests cat. Saddened by the loss of our European cat Jade, left at the respectable age of 18 years, she would not rest until to find a cat which would correspond best to our aspiration and our environment.
The proximity of a busy road on one hand, and wood and fields on the other hand, directed our choice to a quiet and well-balanced cat capable to stay quietly at home. Also the presence of the other pets in our life (dog, ewes, guinea pigs) militated in favour of a cat with an accommodating character.
Thus it's quite naturally towards Skogkatt that our choice went.
This big sturdy and captivating cat hides, under wild looks, an easy-going and affectionate temper which makes him very close to the man, real cat-dog a little "sticky" requesting caresses and affection. Mixing with happiness a double personality, the Norwegian is at the same time an excellent hunter and a big sportsman outside, but he also knows how to be a real bewitching Dandy when it is a question of strutting about, the tail in panache and the nonchalant step, in the middle of the lounge.
Having chosen the Norwegian, we had to find that special cat. We thus foamed internet to find the coordinates of catteries not too much far away from our home and having available kittens. That's how we are arrived at the cattery of Larmadadchat, at Isabelle MESLIN. We had seen on her web site that she had a small one 3-month-old princess, Chataigne, and a young tomcat of 7 months, Caramel.
And what it must going gone, neither my daughter nor I were able to decide us between these two balls of hairs so charming the one than the other. We loved this small wild child look of Chataigne, but the Dandy look of Caramel also melted us. Unable to resolve us to fetch nobody, we are go back home with ... both.
Kittens was already registered for the Baltard Feline Show 2008 which was held in January, Isabelle very friendly suggested us accompanying her. So coached, we were able to discover what was a feline show as participating. And we were totally seduced by the atmosphere and the passion which leads a lot of breeders.
And so began our adventure with Caramel and Chataigne, and so we contracted the virus of the Norwegian. We were quite naturally led towards the idea to make share our passion by creating our cattery.
To begin well, but also because I like very much the tortie cats, I put myself in search of a 2nd little female. Darjeeling held my attention from her first hours. Her little flame in the middle of the small forehead of crumpled kitten literally melted me. We thank Victoria, of the cattery of Ganesha, for having agreed to entrust her to us. The third member of our biggining cattery was found.
We did not have more than to find the name of our small breeding. After having racked one's brains to try to find an original name, we finally preferred to associate our three cats by mixing their three names. As we live in the campaign we also needed something rural. So CAramel, CHAtaigne and DARjeeling gave rise to the cattery "du Clos de CACHADAR ".
